L2TP VPN Connection Fails
When connecting to an L2TP VPN you receive the following error.
This happens after installing Windows Update KB5009543. To resolve the issue, uninstall this update.
Microsoft has released out of band updates to address this issue. They are not automatically installed like most updates.
- Click Start -> Settings
- Click Updates & Security
- Click Advanced Options
- Scroll to "Pause Updates" and select the last available date.
- Click View update history
- Click Uninstall updates
- Find update KB5009543 in the list, select it and click Uninstall
- Reboot your computer after the uninstall is complete
- Try connecting to the VPN again
